The NYPD is seeking the public’s help locating a 37-year-old woman who is reported missing from the South Bronx and whose mother says is missing for the third time. This was confirmed by the NYPD.
The woman’s mother added that her daughter is also dealing with some challenges, is in need of support services, and that the last time she was found, she was wandering the streets.
Police said Shasha Sonhouse, of East 143rd Street in the South Bronx was last seen leaving her home on Thursday, Aug. 21, at around 7 a.m.
They said she is described as a female, Black, has brown eyes and black hair, weighs around 235 pounds and is feet, 10 inches tall. They said she was last seen wearing a green T-shirt, khaki pants, and black shoes.
Speaking to Norwood News on Friday, Aug. 22, in the Norwood section of the Bronx where she works, with tears streaming down her face, Sonhouse’s mother shared her concerns about both the court system and the health system saying she was extremely concerned that planned cutbacks to health funding would affect her ability to support and take care of her daughter.
She also said the court system needed to be more supportive to parents of people who are dealing with certain challenges in life and to listen to parents in order to better protect the people in question.
