Police Seek Gunman Who Fired on Female Resident in Kingsbridge Heights

Police are looking for an individual who opened fire on a complete stranger in broad daylight for no apparent reason. The victim was a young woman who was simply headed to a supermarket in the Kingsbridge Heights section of the Bronx.

 

According to Detective Denise Moroney, officers from the 52nd precinct were called following a report of an assault outside of 2645 Morris Avenue, between East Kingsbridge Road and East 193rd Street, at 9:01 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28.

Moroney said, “Upon arrival, officers were informed by a 22-year-old female [that] she was walking to the grocery store when she was approached by an individual who shot at her.”

 

Crime scene tape and two plastic cups marked the scene where two shell casings fell to the ground at the exact spot where the assailant took aim at the young woman.

Moroney also said, “The individual fled to parts unknown,” adding that the victim was not seriously injured and had refused medical attention.

 

Investigators said that as of Thursday, Sept. 3, no arrests were made and no description of the gunman was available.

        😉 Even if Google were a reliable authority, Morris Heights, University Heights, Fordham Heights and Kingsbridge Heights have never, in my experience, had firm dividing lines. But Kingsbridge is down the hill.
