Pelham Gardens: Police Search for Alleged Armed Suspect

NYPD said that they responded to an unconfirmed report yesterday evening, May 14, at around 8:28 p.m. of a male who was possibly carrying a firearm at 1260 Burke Avenue in the Pelham Gardens area of the Bronx. They requested additional units to the scene to aid in a foot pursuit. On arrival, police advised that they had sufficient units on the scene and searched the area. Police confirm a report earlier this morning, May 15, of a missing man in the Bedford Park area of the Bronx described as a 27-year-old Latino, 5 feet, 8 inches, wearing a hoodie and jeans. He was last seen at Sedgwick Avenue & Stevenson Place. Anyone with information in regard to this missing person is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The de Blasio administration today announced that Alternate Side Parking Regulation suspensions will be extended through Sunday, May 17, 2020. Police responded to a complaint about a felony assault that occurred on May 12, 2020 at approximately 00:03 a.m. at Briggs Avenue within the confines of the 52nd precinct. A 36-year-old male reported to police that he had a verbal argument with a 37-year-old male who punched and slashed the complainant in the face, causing a small laceration to the mouth area.
