CUNY’s Mexican Studies Institute at Lehman College Lands $1 Million City Council Award

The CUNY Mexican Studies Institute (MSI), housed at Lehman College, is celebrating its 10th year with a significant new investment from local lawmakers. In July, the institute received a funding allocation of $1 million from New York City Council to support its work.   CUNY MSI is one of just two research centers in the Northeast of the country dedicated to Mexican and Mexican American studies. Driver Causes Smash-Up Derby along Fordham Road

Video by LA Movie on Play via YouTube Several cellphone videos posted to social media captured a daylight police stop which resulted in mayhem on Fordham Road last Wednesday. The videos show armed police officers with their guns pointed at a car driver while the car is situated in heavy traffic. Fordham Manor: Woman Sought in University Avenue Stabbing

Fordham Heights: 66-Year-Old Man Assaulted

  The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached video and photos who is wanted for questioning in connection to an assault that occurred in Fordham Heights in the 46th precinct. Metro-North Bus Service Continues Monday, Parking Lot Upgrades Planned at Three Hudson Line Stations

Jerome Park: Two Sought in Connection with Assault of 35-Year-Old Man

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals seen in the attached video who are wanted in connection to an assault that occurred in Jerome Park.   It was reported to police that on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at around 5 p.m., in front of 3051 Valentine Avenue, located in the 52nd precinct, the two individuals assaulted a 35-year-old man, following a dispute.   During the altercation, one of the men stabbed the victim in the back twice with an unknown sharp object. Chase Bank Branch on Burnside Avenue Reopens
