Hate crimes in New York City continue to rise as various elected officials across New York State have continued to rally around Bronx Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81), who is Jewish, in response to the recent protest organized by Republican gubernatorial candidate, Rob Astorino, outside Dinowitz’s Bronx office at 3107 Kingsbridge Avenue on Sunday, Nov. 14. Throggs Neck: Applications Filed with DOB for New 3-Story Building at 2670 Schurz Avenue

Construction applications have been filed with the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) for the construction of a new, three-story, residential building at 2670 Schurz Avenue in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.   Located between Buttrick Avenue and Davis Avenue, the waterfront lot is within walking distance of Ferry Point Park. North Riverdale Man Arrested following Fatal Hit & Run Incident in Fordham Manor

A 35-year-old man from North Riverdale has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident in which a woman died, police confirmed on Sunday.   On Saturday, Nov. 27, at 5.03 p.m., an off-duty New York City employee was arrested and charged in the 50th precinct with regarding a hit and run incident that occurred in August. Belmont: 23-Year-Old Man Arrested following Shooting of Two Cops on Thanksgiving Eve

Trash, Curbside Composting and Recycling Collection Changes over Thanksgiving Weekend

The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that in observance of Thanksgiving Day, there will be no trash, curbside composting or recycling collection on Thursday, Nov. 25.   Residents who normally receive Thursday trash or curbside composting collection may place their material at the curb between 4 p.m. and midnight Thursday evening. However there will be collection delays, as is common after holidays. They ask residents to be patient while they await collection. Williamsbridge: Search for Man following Shooting of Victim in Stomach and Leg

The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the individual seen in the attached video who is sought for questioning in connection to an assault that occurred in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx, located in the 47th precinct.   It was reported to police that on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at approximately 10.58 a.m. in front of 3550 Holland Avenue, an individual who was unknown to a 36-year-old male victim, displayed a firearm and shot him. Kingsbridge: Search for 63-Year-Old Missing Man

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of a 63-year-old man reported missing on Tuesday, Nov. 23, from the Kingsbridge neighborhood, located in the 50th precinct.   Thomas Rosa, Thomas, 63, of  3632 Tibbett Avenue in Kingsbridge was last seen at his home at 11.30 hours on Tuesday, Nov. 23.
