Bedford Park: Fire at 2777 Webster Avenue Under Control

A fire in Bedford Park which broke out in a multiple dwelling on Sunday evening has been brought under control, FDNY officials confirmed. The FDNY later confirmed to Norwood News that the department was alerted to the incident at 7.09 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20 and that it had been reported at 2777 Webster Avenue. It was classified as a 2-alarm incident, with 25 units, comprising 106 firefighters responding to the call. Fire officials said the fire was on the top floor of a 3-story, multiple dwelling. Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81) shared in his regular newsletter dated Feb. 2 that the New York State legislature would likely approve newly redrawn maps of The Bronx’s congressional districts, supported by the majority of State legislators, as part of the ongoing redistricting process which follows the 2020 census. For the second time in 10 years, detectives and crime scene investigators are investigating a brutal murder at a Noble Avenue building in the Van Nest section of The Bronx. This time, the life of a woman was taken. Video courtesy of the NYPD The NYPD is seeking the public’s help identifying a person of interest, sought for questioning in connection to an assault and shooting that occurred on the border of Fordham Manor and Fordham Heights. On Thursday, Feb. 10, at approximately 4.12 p.m., the person in question displayed a firearm from the backseat of a vehicle in the vicinity of East Fordham Road and Webster Avenue.
