Bronx Notes: Free Weekly Immigration Services

Councilman Fernando Cabrera along with CUNY Citizenship Now! will provide free confidential legal services to qualified immigrants to help them in their pursuit of U.S. citizenship, Wednesdays, starting Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cabrera’s district office, 107 E. 52nd Precinct Neighborhood Crime Stats (2006-2011): Overview

In late September, the Norwood News obtained crime statistics for each of the 15 sectors (or neighborhoods) in the 52nd Precinct, which includes all of the neighborhoods that make up the Norwood News’ primary coverage area, including Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham, Fordham-Bedford, University Heights and Kingsbridge Heights. In the graph below, we have aggregated all of the statistics in each neighborhood to give you a six-year sample of how crime trends compare in each neighborhood.

Bronx Notes: Tree Giveaway at Woodlawn Cemetery

Woodlawn Cemetery, along with Million TreesNYC and New York Restoration Project, are giving away trees, limited to one per household, Oct. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery’s East 233rd Street and Webster Avenue entrance. Trees will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. The trees must be planted within the five boroughs but not along streets, in city parks, containers or on roofs. Dates and times are subject to change.
