Update: Arrest Made in Olinville Murder

A man has been arrested on murder charges in the case of the death of 39-year-old Robert Hill who was shot in Olinville, in April and later died from his wounds.

 

Police responded to a 911 call, on Tuesday, regarding a person who had been shot at East 216th Street and Olinville Avenue in the Olinville section of the Bronx, located in the 47th precinct. The call came in on April 27 at 6.15 p.m. Upon arrival at the location, police discovered two people had been shot.

 

The first victim, Hill, was shot in the chest and was transported to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. Hill had an address in Mount Vernon, NY. The second victim was a 27-year-old woman who was shot once in the torso and was also removed to Montefiore Medical Center. She was in stable condition.

 

On Wednesday, July 7, pursuant to an ongoing investigation, police announced that on, Monday, July 5, Omar Briscoe, 41, of South 10 Avenue in Mount Vernon NY was arrested on charges of murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.

 

A person arrested and accused of a crime is innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
