NYC Department of Parks & Recreation (Parks) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the development, operation, and maintenance of a brand new sports/recreation and food service facility at Ferry Point Park in the Bronx. Parks is looking for creative and comprehensive proposals to bring year-round activities such as soccer, American football, or other sports and recreational interests to this popular 413-acre park.

Additionally, the concessionaire will also be required to develop, operate and maintain a food service facility at a high standard of quality.

With a dramatic view of the East River and Westchester Creek, Ferry Point Park stretches across 413 acres, approximately half the size of Central Park. Parks department officials said Ferry Point Park has one and half miles of prime waterfront, offering unparalleled views of the East River and Long Island Sound, the Manhattan skyline, and of the Whitestone and Throgs Neck Bridges. The park also offers visitors playing fields for soccer and football, basketball courts, and access to what is described as a world-class public golf course.

Parks is seeking a concessionaire for one (1) 20-year term, and no longer term will be considered. This concession will be operated pursuant to a license issued by Parks. No leasehold or other proprietary right is offered. Proposers should submit a detailed operational plan for the entire licensed premises.

All proposals for this RFP must be submitted no later than Friday, January 28, 2022, by 3 pm. For more information, and to download the RFP, visit Parks’ website at www.nyc.gov/parks/businessopportunities.
