The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photo who they say is wanted in connection with a knifepoint robbery that occurred in Norwood.

Police said that Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, at around 11.55 p.m. in front of 111 East 210th Street, an unidentified person hailed a taxi. “Upon entering the taxi, the individual displayed a knife and demanded the 44-year-old male victim’s wallet,” a police spokesperson said. “The victim complied and the individual removed around $500 and a debit card from the wallet.”

Police said the suspect then got out of the taxi without paying and fled on foot, traveling southbound on Bainbridge Avenue. They said no injuries were reported and that the suspect is described as female and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and white sneakers.

Following unconfirmed reports on the Citizens’ App of a separate knifepoint robbery of a woman on Sunday night, Oct. 13, at 3031 Villa Avenue in Bedford Park, Norwood News visited the location and asked a security guard standing outside a nearby bar if he had witnessed anything.

He said he did see a verbal dispute unfold between two groups of two people across the street from the reported address in front of a barber shop on Bedford Park Boulevard between Jerome Avenue and Villa Avenue but other than that, he saw no robbery and added that police were not seen responding to any robbery either.

When contacted, the NYPD also said they had no record of any reported robbery at the location.

A REPORT OF a robbery of a woman at knifepoint in front of 3031 Villa Avenue in Bedford Park on Sunday night, Oct. 13, 2025 was unfounded according to police and another source.
