Norwood: Search for Suspect following Assault that left Victim in Critical Condition

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached surveillance video who is wanted for questioning in connection with an assault that occurred in the 52nd precinct.

 

It was reported to police that on Saturday, Sept. 4, at approximately 4.41 p.m., a 34-year-old male victim at the rear of 3405 Putnam Place, in Norwood, got into a verbal dispute with the unidentified male suspect. After a brief struggle between the two, the suspect kicked the victim to the floor and continued kicking him in the body and head while he was on the floor. The suspect later fled on foot to parts unknown, and the victim was transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/St. Barnabas and is listed in critical condition.

 

The individual is described as an adult male, approximately 30 to 40 years of age, medium build, dark-skinned, and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweater, tan pants, black sneakers, a white hat, a black face mask and was carrying a black bag.

 

Surveillance video is attached, obtained from the incident location.
