When Norwood News spoke to a number of park-goers about an hour or so later to see if anyone had witnessed the altercation, nobody had.

One resident said he only saw the aftermath when police arrived and the man was being arrested. He said there were very few people in the park at the time – maybe seven.

As the sun briefly emerged and the atmosphere in the park was relaxed, it had become pretty busy with many young people playing sports on the main field and side courts, and younger kids playing in the playgrounds. Most seemed oblivious to what had unfolded a little earlier.
