The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the people seen in the attached photo who they say are sought in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Norwood.
Police said that on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at around 4.40 a.m., the victim, a 54-year-old man, was in front of 299 East 206th Street when the group of five approached him, displaying a gun.
Police said the group ordered the victim to get down on the ground before stealing his bookbag, Apple watch and approximately $65. “One of the male individuals began punching the victim with a closed fist to the right side of his face as he attempted to get up from the ground,” a police spokesperson said. “The male individuals then fled on foot to parts unknown. The victim’s book bag contained his wallet with credit cards but was later recovered in the vicinity of the incident.”
Each member of the group is described as male and is estimated to be between 18 and 25 years of age.
Police said the attached surveillance photo showing all five suspects was obtained from 361 East 204th Street after the incident took place.
