The owners of 189 East 205th Street in Bedford Park, The Bronx filed an application with the New York City Department of Buildings on Feb. 23, for the construction of a new eight-story residential building at the address, as reported by YIMBY, the architecture, construction, and real estate website announced on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Located between Grand Concourse and Lisbon Place, the interior lot is three blocks north of the Bedford Park Boulevard subway station, serviced by the B and D trains. Richard Hertz under the 189 & 193 East 205th Realty LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Norwood News has reached out to the agent which filed on behalf of 189 & 193 East 205th Realty LLC for details of the anticipated rental costs of the units. We did not receive an immediate response.

The proposed 74-foot-tall development will yield 52,333 square feet, with 48,731 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 88 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 553 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard.

Max Disla Architect is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet and an estimated completion date has not been announced.
