Morris Heights: Daylight Shooting in Front of Occupied Playground

Three men are sought by police following a daylight shooting in front of a playground in Morris Heights.

 

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the three, unidentified men seen in the attached photos and video, who are sought in connection with the reckless endangerment incident that took place in the 46th precinct.

It was reported to police that on Saturday May 22, 2021 at approximately 3.42 p.m., the three individuals were walking northbound on University Avenue in front of Morton Place playground which was occupied, at the time, by numerous children and their guardians.

 

As two other men exited the basketball court, two of three individuals sought produced firearms and fired at least nine gunshots in the direction of the two other men. The three suspects then fled on foot, southbound, on University Avenue. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

The first individual sought (shooter) is described as male, about 20 to 30 years of age, dark-skinned, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 170  to 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a white tank-top, blue sweatpants and black sneakers.

 

The second individual sought (shooter) is described as male, about 20 to 30 years of age, dark-skinned, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 170 to 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, blue shorts, black sneakers and a black du-rag.

The third individual is described as male, approximately 20 to 30 years of age, dark-skinned, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 170 to 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black track pants with a white vertical stripe down the legs, and white sneakers.
