Jacqueline Acevedo-Villanueva, Mary Kay Sales Director, along with her colleagues Marina Lopez and Areliz Diaz, made a special trip to North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) on Wednesday, May 20, to donate 100 ‘Satin Hands’ care packages to front line essential workers as a pampering treat.

Acevedo-Villanueva, who was born and raised in the Bronx, and who leads a team of over 50 women in her role at Mary Kay, a global beauty brand, donated the care packages as a thank you gesture to NCB nurses, and to all who she described as “the heroes on the front lines”.

The packages comprised a three-step home spa, hand care treatment of white tea & citrus to keep hands nourished and moisturized. Each set also had a thank you card inside. Acevedo-Villanueva said the benefit of the home spa treatment is that it leaves hands feeling revitalized, soothed, and protected, despite persistent hand-washing.

She said she decided to make the gesture to thank North Central Bronx Hospital front line workers who she said have been, “under fire, standing tall throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” and that she was thankful to have made the event happen. She said that she hoped it would uplift both herself, and others around her.

Acevedo-Villanueva and her team have also been sending out care packages, and hosting complimentary self-care virtual events in recent weeks for teachers and NYPD members, among others.

“With my events and projects being cancelled during the pandemic, I was able to fall on Mary Kay to build and focus on my brand, new company, and help women and men feel better,” she said. “Self care is very important.”
