Kingsbridge: Three Hospitalized after Car Flips on Major Deegan Expressway

A car overturned onto its roof on the Major Deegan Expressway by West 230th Street on Monday evening, May 19, after a car accident took place, emergency services said.

 

FDNY/EMS officials said they received a call at 5.22 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle accident at the location. They said the total patient count was three (civilians) who incurred non-life threatening injuries. They said they were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

 

The two left lanes (of three) of southbound traffic were blocked off along the I-87 (Major Deegan Expressway) at West Fordham Road while emergency services responded to the scene for a few hours. The lanes were cleared at around 8.42 p.m.

 

Norwood News reached out to the NYPD for more information about the accident. It’s unknown how many vehicles were involved. We will share more details as they become available.
