Kingsbridge: No Injuries Reported after Fire Breaks out at 2698 Bailey Avenue

There were no injuries reported after a fire broke out in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx on Thursday evening, March 5, FDNY officials said.

 

An FDNY spokesperson said the department received a call at 5.42 a.m. on Thursday evening for a reported fire on the first floor of 2698 Bailey Avenue, located between West 193rd Street and West Kingsbridge Avenue.

 

Department officials said 21 units, comprising 79 fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and the fire was brought under control at 6.05 p.m. with no injuries reported. They said the fire marshals have been notified and will carry out their investigation to determine the cause.

 

Norwood News reached out to the Red Cross to ask about any possibly displaced residents following the fire and will share any updates we receive.

As reported, a large commercial fire broke out later on Thursday night at 1234 East Gunhill Road in the Laconia section of the East Bronx.
