Kingsbridge: Man Robbed, Assaulted with Machete & Hit with Car

A 36-year-old man was robbed by a machete-wielding male suspect in Kingsbridge. He was  assaulted, and later hit by the suspect’s car and abandoned, police said.

 

The NYPD said that on Thursday, May 18, at around 2.15 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a robbery in front of 3189 Irwin Avenue in Kingsbridge.

 

A police spokesperson said, “Upon arrival, officers were informed by a 36-year-old male that an unknown male was present at the location, broke into the rear passenger window of a vehicle, and removed construction tools/supplies.”

 

The spokesperson said when the male victim approached the suspect, the suspect swung a machete at him, striking the victim in the left arm, causing pain. The suspect fled in a vehicle driven by a woman, police said. They added that the victim was struck by the side of the vehicle, causing him to fall to the ground. “The suspects fled and remain unknown and un-apprehended,” police said.
