UPDATE Fordham Manor: Two Men Now Arrested in June Fatal Shooting of 29-Year-Old Woman

Police have made a further arrest in the murder case of Katherine Diop, 29, who was killed in Fordham Manor in June 2021.

 

As previously reported, on Wednesday, June 16, at approximately 11.24 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at East 194th Street and Marion Avenue, in Fordham Manor, in the 52nd precinct.

 

Upon arrival, officers observed two individuals with gunshot wounds: a 31-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds about his body, and a 29-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her torso.

 

EMS also responded to the location and transported both victims to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where the woman was pronounced deceased. The man was listed in stable condition at the time, there were no immediate arrests, and the investigation remained ongoing.

The deceased was identified as Katherine Diop, 29, of Fordham Manor in the Bronx.

 

On Sunday, July 11, at approximately 2.41 p.m., pursuant to an ongoing investigation, Jonathan Rosario, 24, of Bedford Park was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter criminal possession of a weapon, attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

 

On Friday, 23 July, police confirmed that a further arrest was made in the case. Andrew Johnson, 28, of Bainbridge Avenue in the Fordham Manor section of the Bronx was arrested on Thursday, July 22, at 7.30 p.m. in the 52nd precinct.

 

Johnson was charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

 

A person arrested and accused of a crime is innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
