The NYPD reported that on Sunday, July 26, 2020, at approximately 3:10 a.m., police responded to a 911 call about a man who was shot in front of 2760 Bronx Park East, within the confines of the 49th precinct, in the Parkside Housing Project of the Bronx. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 37-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS responded and pronounced the man deceased. State Senator Alessandra Biaggi issued the following statement explaining why she voted against bill S8835 which passed in the State Senate on July 23. The bill amends the public health law, in relation to amending provisions regarding health care facilities and professionals during the COVID-19 emergency.
