Officials from the MTA applauded news from City Hall on Friday, July 2, that New Yorkers can now request outreach assistance for individuals in the subway system via the 311 system. That includes those who are believed to be experiencing homelessness or a mental health crisis. Bedford Park: 33-Year-Old Man Shot Several Times inside Residential Building

Police are looking for the gunman who shot and wounded a 33-year-old man in Bedford Park on Sunday, June 27 at 9.05 a.m.   According to police the man was shot several times inside a five-story apartment building on East 199th Street, close to Marion Avenue, in the 52nd precinct.   He sustained several gunshot wounds. EMS responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas hospital in stable condition. Con Ed Estimates 8.30 p.m. for Restoration of Remaining Bronx Power Outages following Storm

Con Edison crews are continuing the repair of equipment and the restoration of power for customers affected by the recent four-day heat wave and subsequent storm, the company confirmed on Thursday, July 1.   Con Ed officials said their crews have worked non-stop, often in extreme heat conditions, in order to return power to customers who experienced outages over the course of the recent heat wave. About 1,000 customers remained out of service as of the Thursday afternoon, out of a total of 3.5 million customers, meaning the majority of customers were unaffected by the heat and the storm.

DOB Issues High Wind Advisory to Contractors, Crane Operators, Property Owners Amid Stormy Weather

The New York City area is experiencing severe weather, including scattered thunderstorms with wind gusts of up to 70 mph since June 30 and this may continue through Friday, July 2. The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 69-year-old woman who was reported missing in the 52nd precinct. Update: BOE (Re)Publishes Unofficial RCV Count Tabulation for Mayor, City Comptroller & Public Advocate Primaries

The New York City Board of Elections (BOE) republished a preliminary report of the 2021 Primary Election unofficial RCV count tabulation for mayor, city comptroller and public advocate on Wednesday, June 30, having published erroneous data in relation to the mayoral race the previous day, and having removed the data shortly afterwards.
