The New York City Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD), Housing Development Corporation (HDC), and NYCHA announced plans on May 9 to construct Sol on the Park, a 195-unit affordable housing property in the Morrisania section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY. Located at the corner of St. Paul’s Place and Park Avenue, the project sits within the Morris II public housing development. Police said a 27-year-old man has died in Mott Haven, following a gunshot wound to the head. On Saturday, May 14, at around 2 a.m., police said they responded to a call regarding a person who had been shot inside Joyce Kilmer Park, located at the corner of East 161st Street and the Grand Concourse. Upon arrival, officers observed a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head, unconscious and unresponsive. EMS responded and transported the man to Lincoln Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

A 62-year-old woman has died following a traffic accident in Castle Hill. On Saturday, May 14, at approximately 11.02 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who had been hit at Olmstead Avenue and Seward Avenue, in the 43rd precinct. Fire officials say one person was seriously injured after a fire broke out inside a 5th-floor apartment at 125 West 195th Street in Kingsbridge Heights.
