Fordham Manor: Search for Missing 70-Year-Old Woman

The NYPD is seeking the public’s help locating Leone Ultan, 70, who was reported missing from Fordham Manor on Wednesday, May 24. Police said that Ultan of 2550 Webb Avenue was last seen leaving her home on Thursday, May 4, at around 7.25 p.m. She was described by police as female, has a light complexion and white hair, is around 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs around 105 pounds. Police said she was last seen wearing a white jacket, white pants, and white shoes. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime

Farrah Kule Rubin is the new Bronx Community Board 8 district manager. The news was shared with community members at a Bronx Community Board 8 meeting earlier this month. Rubin starts her new role effective June 5, according to the board, and replaces Ciara Gannon, who was promoted to director of community boards at the Office of the Bronx Borough President by Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson in recent weeks. A now annual COVID memorial ceremony was once again held by local northwest Bronx residents, including Friends of Jerome Park, at Fort Washington Walk at the corner of Reservoir Avenue and University Avenue in Jerome Park on Saturday, May 13, to commemorate those lost to COVID-19 over the course of the recent pandemic. Twenty-eight students from P.S. 199, The Shakespeare School, were the lucky recipients of new bikes last week thanks to the Montefiore School Health Program and the Montefiore Einstein Center for Performance Improvement. The bikes were presented to the students at their school, located at 1449 Shakespeare Avenue in the Mt. Eden section of The Bronx on Friday, May 19. The driver of a scooter was reportedly injured and treated at a local hospital following a motor vehicle accident on Jerome Avenue in Bedford Park on Monday in what appears to be the second collision to occur along a two-block section of the avenue, and within 10 days of a previous collision involving a bus and a car. The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached photo who is sought in connection with an assault that occurred in Allerton. Police said that on Monday, May 8, at around 3.35 p.m. a person got into a dispute with a 42-year-old, on-duty MTA employee, on a BX12 bus in the vicinity of Williamsbridge Road and Pelham Parkway.
