Filter Project Fails To Deliver Bronx Job Promises

The much-maligned Croton Water Filtration Plant project is facing renewed criticism now that it has become increasingly clear that Bronxites have not received the construction jobs initially promised when the project was approved by the City Council back in 2004.

Bronx Notes: Info Sessions for Free English Classes

The New York Public Library will host free daytime, evening, and weekend English classes. Speaking and listening classes for speakers of other languages and reading and writing for people who speak English will be held. Ignored, PS 51 Parents Take List Of Demands to Chancellor

Members of PS 51 Parents United, a group consisting of parents of current and former PS 51students and members of the Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition (NWBCCC), say the DOE and Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott are not making an effort to reach out to parents of former students about the contamination. They are frustrated that he hasn’t met with them despite their health concerns.
