Holy Natity, an Episcopal church in Norwood on Bainbridge Avenue that overcame a devastating fire in 2009, must now deal with the damage left by an invader who broke into the building and stole a sound system.

The Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 6:30 p.m. inside the Mosholu Montefiore Community Center, 3450 DeKalb (corner of East Gun Hill Road) to discuss the agency’s East Gun Hill Road Congested Corridor Study. Bronx Notes: Community Board 7 Meeting Tonight

Community Board 7 will hold its general board meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the Bedford Park Senior Center, 243 E. 204th St. For more information, call (718) 933-5660 or visit bronxcb7.info. This will be the board’s first meeting without District Manager Fernando Tirado who took leave last week (his last official day is Oct. 19) and is starting a new job in Long Island. The board will probably put together a search committee and discuss filling the position during tonight’s meeting.

Crime Watch: Man Murdered on Decatur Ave. in Norwood

On Saturday afternoon, at about 1:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a male shot inside 3347 Decatur Ave. When they arrived, they discovered Jesus Avando, 26, with a bullet wound in his head. Avando, who lived at 3347 Decatur Ave., was pronounced dead at the scene. The Decatur building is located between East 209th Street and East Gun Hill Road.
