In the most hopeful sign yet for residents of Kingsbridge Heights, who have long awaited real momentum behind the redevelopment of the long-vacant, City-owned Kingsbridge Armory, the New York City Council voted “yes” on the latest redevelopment project, “The Kingsbridge Center (El Centro Kingsbridge),” on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The happy news follows dozens of envisioning meetings, surveys, outreach, workshops,, various hearings, set-backs, drama and more drama along the way.
Bronx Man Charged with Murder of Girlfriend, Allegedly Lied to Police about Alleged Attack by Robbers
Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced Wednesday, Oct. 29, that a Bronx man who allegedly fabricated a story about knife-wielding robbers on mopeds attacking him and his girlfriend on City Island Road has been charged with second-degree murder and additional charges for fatally stabbing her.
Assemblyman Dinowitz Pleased City Council Moving Ahead with Gun Safety Law Similar to His State Law Passed Last Year
Bronx Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81) has said he is pleased that the City Council is moving ahead with gun reform legislation that is similar to a law he sponsored at State level which passed last year. He said earlier this year, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed into law his bill which requires the posting of notices and handing out of those notices when an individual obtains a gun license.
