Norwood: Woman Assaulted, Robbed inside Car on Hull Avenue

A woman was assaulted and robbed of a very large amount of cash while she was seated inside her car with a friend in Norwood on Monday afternoon, May 6, police saild. A 41-year-old woman was later arrested in connection with the incident.

Dinowitz Introduces Bill to Combat Concealment of Identity During Public Protests

Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81) has introduced a new bill (A.10057A) to curb identity concealment in lawful assemblies, unlawful assemblies, or riots. According to Dinowitz, the bill addresses a concern that individuals hide their identities during public gatherings, evading accountability for their actions. He said the proposed legislation specifies exemptions for wearing personal protective equipment during declared public health emergencies, and attire worn for religious observance or customs.

UPDATE Allerton: “Extremely Hungry” and “Dehydrated” Pitbull Abandoned on Bronx Park East

Around two and half weeks after cat rescue group Little Wanderers NYC shared allegations of organized pitbull fighting taking place at certain locations around The Bronx, which the Bronx District Attorney has confirmed are under investigation by her office, an “extremely hungry” and “dehydrated” pitbull was found abandoned on Saturday, May 4, in the Allerton section of the borough.

UPDATE Olinville: Taxi Association Offers Cash Reward for Info on Man Sought for Shooting at Cab

The the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers (NYSFTD) has offered a cash reward for information on the identity of a gunman who allegedly shot at a cab driver’s vehicle several times following a dispute. As reported, the New York City Police Department had been asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photo who they say is sought in connection with the shooting that they said occurred in the Olinville section of The Bronx in early May. NYSFTD have previously highlighted the dangers posed to cab drivers in The Bronx amid a slew of recent carjackings.
