Police Seek Gunman Who Fired on Female Resident in Kingsbridge Heights

Police are looking for an individual who opened fire on a complete stranger in broad daylight for no apparent reason. The victim was a young woman who was simply headed to a supermarket in the Kingsbridge Heights section of the Bronx.   According to Detective Denise Moroney, officers from the 52nd precinct were called following a report of an assault outside of 2645 Morris Avenue, between East Kingsbridge Road and East 193rd Street, at 9:01 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28. Graffiti Finally Removed from Unopened AutoZone Kingsbridge Store

It wasn’t quick, but AutoZone finally removed some unsightly graffiti that had covered the southern wall of an unopened AutoZone store in Kingsbridge. Fordham Manor: Two Young Missing Brothers Found

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 at 00.30 a.m., police confirmed that two young brothers, Savaughn Cheatham, 5, and Javan Cheatham, 12, from the Bronx, who were reported missing on Aug. 29 in the 52nd precinct, have been located in good health.     The NYPD had sought the public’s assistance in locating the two boys who were last seen walking together in the vicinity of Andrews Avenue and West Fordham Road in the Fordham Manor section of the Bronx, on Saturday Aug. 29, 2020 at approximately 10:17 a.m.  

Fordham Manor: Man Wanted in Connection with Burglary of Clothing Store

The New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted in the attached surveillance photos in connection with a burglary that occurred within the confines of the 52nd precinct.    It was reported to police that on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020 at approximately 5.13 a.m., inside of 209 East Fordham Road, (Pretty Girl Clothing Store) an unidentified man was observed on surveillance cameras forcibly entering the commercial establishment through a locked door in the roof area. Morrisania: Community Rises Up to Save Streets from Gun Violence

On Monday, Aug. 24, NYPD Police Commissioner Dermot Shea announced that, going forward, additional police officers would be rostered at the weekends in an effort to curb the increased rates of gun violence seen across the Bronx, and across the City in recent months. The NYPD reported that 44 percent of shootings in the last month occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.   For the week ending Aug. 23, murder in the Bronx, rose by 400 percent compared to the same period last year. In the 52 precinct alone, two murders were reported in July within six days of each other.
