Police have opened an investigation following the discovery of a body in the basement of a building in Bedford Park.   Police responded to a call about a bad odor inside 2854 Briggs Avenue in Bedford Park in the 52nd precinct, on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at approximately 4.52 p.m.   Upon arrival, officers observed a man, lying unconscious and unresponsive inside the basement of the location. UPDATE Fordham Heights: 32-Year-Old Man Shot Dead, Arrest Made

Police confirmed on Wednesday, Nov. 3, that a man was arrested for the murder of Ronnell Garmie, 32, of Fordham Heights in the Bronx, who was shot on Aug. 3. Police responded to a 911 call regarding a person who had been shot in front of 2335 Tiebout Avenue, in the 46th precinct, on Tuesday, Aug. 3, at around 8.13 p.m.   Upon arrival, officers observed a 32-year-old man, Garmie, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to his chest. Congress Approves AOC’s Funding Request for Jacobi Hospital’s Cure Violence Program, Among Others

Bedford Park: Gunman Sought in Decatur Avenue Shooting

Police are looking for a gunman who fired several shots on Decatur Avenue in Bedford Park, apparently striking the front window of an apartment building.   The NYPD confirmed that officers responded to a 911 call on Saturday, July 24, at approximately 4 a.m. following a complaint regarding shots fired in the rear yard of a two-family home located at 2850 Decatur Avenue, in the 52nd precinct, and carried out an investigation.   No arrests were made following the incident and the investigation is ongoing. Trinitarios Gang Member Sentenced to Three Years for Witness Retaliation

Former Trinitarios gang member, Christian Nieves, also known as “Eric Rosario,” and “White Boy,” was sentenced on Tuesday, July 27, to three years in prison in connection with his retaliation against a witness who had testified at a previous, federal murder trial by slashing the witness across the neck with a blade. Police Continue Hunt for Suspect in Elderly Man’s Bus Assault
