  A second protest in response to a police-involved shooting turned violent on Friday, Sept. 3, when protesters knocked over metal barricades and a police vehicle was doused with gasoline.   The incident occurred at approximately 10.32 p.m. on Friday night when a group approached the 46th precinct station house, located in Fordham Heights, in order to protest a police-involved shooting that occurred on Sunday, Aug. 29, as previously reported,   In a video shared by the NYPD which captures the rally, the group is seen pushing barricades into police officers who were stationed behind them, protecting the 46th precinct

Edenwald Houses: 28-Year Man Shot, Dies

A 28-year-old man has died following a shooting at Edenwald Houses in the Edenwald section of the Bronx.   Police responded to a 911 call regarding the shooting which occurred in front of 1137 East 229 Drive South in the 47th Precinct/Police Service Area 8 on Friday, Sept. 3, at approximately 8.38 p.m.  Upon arrival, officers observed the 28-year-old with a gunshot wound to his chest.   EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Montefiore Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Bronx Zoo Helps Coordinate Transfer of Pet Cougar Living in New York City Home to Arkansas Sanctuary

An 11-month-old, approximately 80-pound, female cougar was removed from a New York City home on Thursday, Aug. 26. in coordination with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), New York City Police Department (NYPD) and the Bronx Zoo.   The HSUS was on scene with the owner who surrendered the cougar to the authorities. 41-Year-Old Man Dies in Norwood Residential Building

  The NYPD recently confirmed a 41-year-old man died in a Norwood apartment.   According to police spokeswoman, Detective Annette Shelton, officers from the 52nd precinct were called to 333 East 209th Street at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 21.   Shelton said of the incident, “Upon arrival, a 41-year-old male was discovered unconscious, lying in the hallway of the location.” She added, “EMS responded and pronounced the male deceased.”   The deceased man’s name was not immediately released as it was pending proper family notification.
