An off-duty, New York City Police Department employee was arrested and charged in the 45th precinct in the early hours of Saturday morning, Dec. 11. Edwin Jerez, a 37-year-old male NYPD lieutenant was charged with driving while his ability to drive was impaired (DWAI). The 45th precinct serves a portion of the northeastern section of the Bronx, encompassing Co-op City and City Island. Police confirm a man was stabbed during an attempted robbery which occurred in the Fordham Manor section of the Bronx, in the 52nd precinct, on Monday.
