A 24-year-old woman has died following an assault in the Tremont section of The Bronx, and a 27-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.   On Thursday, Feb. 24, at approximately 7 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding the assault, which took place inside an Arthur Avenue residential building in the Tremont neighborhood. UPDATE 19-Year-Old from West Farms Arrested in Bronxwide Robbery Pattern

Man Gets 24 Years for Killing Uncle for Lottery Winnings & Killing Family Friend While on the Run

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Tuesday, Feb. 22, that a man has been sentenced to 24 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree manslaughter for the fatal stabbing of his 73-year-old uncle in his South Bronx apartment in June 2018, and for fatally stabbing a woman in a security firm office in the Wakefield section of the Bronx a month later.   Clark said the defendant, Idris Abdul Muhaymin, 49, originally from Georgia, was sentenced to 24 years in prison, and five years of post-release supervision by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Ralph Fabrizio.
