A 24-year-old woman has died following an assault in the Tremont section of The Bronx, and a 27-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the incident. On Thursday, Feb. 24, at approximately 7 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding the assault, which took place inside an Arthur Avenue residential building in the Tremont neighborhood. The NYPD has arrested a 19-year-old male in connection to a borough-wide robbery pattern identified at various Bronx businesses in the 42nd, 44th, 46th, 48th and 49th precincts. Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Tuesday, Feb. 22, that a man has been sentenced to 24 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree manslaughter for the fatal stabbing of his 73-year-old uncle in his South Bronx apartment in June 2018, and for fatally stabbing a woman in a security firm office in the Wakefield section of the Bronx a month later. Clark said the defendant, Idris Abdul Muhaymin, 49, originally from Georgia, was sentenced to 24 years in prison, and five years of post-release supervision by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Ralph Fabrizio.

The NYPD has confirmed a 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Norwood man on Saturday.
