Collection Held for Domestic Violence Survivors ahead of Galentine’s Day Event

In advance of Galentine’s Day, a global holiday that celebrates women’s friendship and mutual empowerment, typically marked on Feb. 13, a collection of pre-loved or new items, including beauty products, accessories, jewelry, hair products, purses, shoes, clothes, and more was organized to support women living at a Bronx Domestic Violence (DV) shelter. 

Coalition Calls to Eliminate 5-Year Statute of Limitations for Human Trafficking Survivors to Press Charges

Coinciding with Human Trafficking Awareness Month in January, Northwest Bronx Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81), a Democrat, was among a coalition of elected officials, advocates, and survivors who joined Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Jr., on Jan. 18, to call on the New York State legislature to support survivors by eliminating the five-year statute of limitations for sex trafficking and child sex trafficking.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrated Across The Bronx

Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson hosted a service honoring the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 15, in partnership with News 12 The Bronx and Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1488 Reverend Dr. Fletcher C. Crawford Way in the Charlotte Gardens section of the borough.
