B.R.A.G. & St. Barnabas Partner for New Youth Boxing Program

Since the second week of July, a group of four young Bronxites have been meeting at St. Barnabas Hospital’s Healthplex in Little Italy on Thursday and Friday evenings for hour-long fitness and boxing classes. MTA Metro-North Railroad to Resume Hudson Line Service for Morning Rush Hour, Tuesday, Sept. 7

MTA Metro-North Railroad president, Catherine Rinaldi, announced on Monday, Sept. 6, that the Hudson Line service will resume for the morning commute on Tuesday, Sept. 7. Hochul Announces $24 Million to Reduce Carbon Emissions in NYCHA Housing

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced last week a $24 million pilot program aimed at reducing carbon emissions and improving the overall energy performance of affordable housing developments in New York City. UPDATE: City Opens 5 Service Centers to Support Recovery from Flash Flood Emergency

NYC Emergency Management and the NYC Department of Social Services announced on Saturday, Sept. 4., that service centers have opened citywide to support individuals and families affected by the flash flood emergency that occurred on Sept. 1 following Storm Ida, as reported.   The five centers are open each day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and are providing those affected by the storm with in-person support and information on resources and services available. Second Protest at 46th Precinct over Police-Involved Shooting Turns Violent

Edenwald Houses: 28-Year Man Shot, Dies

A 28-year-old man has died following a shooting at Edenwald Houses in the Edenwald section of the Bronx.   Police responded to a 911 call regarding the shooting which occurred in front of 1137 East 229 Drive South in the 47th Precinct/Police Service Area 8 on Friday, Sept. 3, at approximately 8.38 p.m.  Upon arrival, officers observed the 28-year-old with a gunshot wound to his chest.   EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Montefiore Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
