An affordable housing lottery has launched for units at Williamsbridge Gardens, a new housing development comprising a pair of newly constructed, 8-story, smoke-free, residential buildings located at 713 East 211th Street and 718 East 212th Street in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY. Designed by MHG Architects and developed by L+M Development Partners, the residential structures yield 170 housing units. Available on NYC Housing Connect, the online portal for New York City Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD), are 84 units for residents at 40 to 80 percent of the area median income

A 32-year-old Bronx man has been arrested on murder charges following the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old in March, police said. On Tuesday, March 15, at around 1.06 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a male victim who had been shot in front of 1770 Grand Concourse, located in the 46th Precinct. “Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 21-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to his torso, and the victim was transported, via private means, to Bronx Care Health System, where he was pronounced deceased,” police officials said.
