NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD) has launched an affordable housing lottery for senior apartments at 915 Elsmere Place, a nine-story building in the West Farms section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.   Designed by Marin Architects and developed by Stagg Group, the structure yields 72 residential units and 15 parking spaces. Norwood: Around 50 Pounds of Fentanyl/Heroin Seized at Drug Stash Apartment in The Bronx

A Bronx man was arrested in connection with the seizure of approximately 23 kilograms of fentanyl/heroin (50 pounds) from a Norwood apartment located at 3535 Dekalb Avenue, not far from Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx. Norwood: Attorney General Opens Investigation into Police-Involved Fatal Shooting in The Bronx

The New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation (OSI) has opened an investigation into the death of a civilian, who died on Nov. 3, as reported, following an encounter with members of the NYPD.   As reported, late in the morning on Nov. 3, police said two men were involved in a physical fight in a shop near the intersection of East Gun Hill Road and Hull Avenue in the Norwood section of The Bronx. Bronx Exhibit Celebrates “Friendship and Activism” of Puerto Rican LGBTQ+ Activist

Bronx Man Gets 20 Years for Fatally Stabbing Wife in front of Children in October 2019

Bronx District Attorney (DA) Darcel D. Clark announced that a Bronx man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, plus five years post-release supervision, for stabbing his wife to death inside a Bronx homeless shelter in 2019.   In reference to the case, Clark said, “The defendant stabbed his wife in front of their children. This vicious attack not only took the life of a 19-year-old woman, but also ripped the two children from their mother, and caused trauma to staff working to provide services to the defendant at the shelter where the stabbing occurred.”   The district attorney

Democratic Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernandez (A.D. 80) has declared victory in her State senate general election race in S.D. 34, having secured 64.74 percent of the total votes by 10.55 p.m. on Election Night, based on early voting and Election Day vote unofficial tallies. UPDATE Elections 2022: Nov. 8 Unofficial Results & Reaction to Statewide and North Bronx Races

After the polls closed on Tuesday, Nov. 8, the New York City Board of Elections released the initial, unofficial results of the general elections, based on a percentage of returned poll site scanners. These initial results cover both early votes and election day votes.
