Fordham Heights: Two Sought following Non-Fatal Shooting

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating two people sought in connection to a non-fatal shooting that occurred in Fordham Heights. Police said that on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at around 10.10 p.m., a 24-year-old man was walking with a friend in front of 2399 Grand Concourse when two people approached him. One of them allegedly displayed a gun and fired it several times, striking the victim once on his left arm. New York City Department of Sanitation has announced a special leaf collection schedule for City residents. Instead of decomposing in a landfill, the collected leaves will be turned into renewable energy or compost, and added to soil to nourish street trees, soil and parks. The department will collect leaves in paper leaf bags, unlined containers or curbside composting bins. Department officials advise residents not to use plastic bags. Three people have been arrested for criminal possession of cannabis in Norwood, police said. On Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 4.11 p.m., at Jerome Avenue and Mosholu Parkway, police officers from the 52nd Precinct observed a vehicle with what were described as excessive window tints. “Upon attempting to stop the vehicle, the vehicle fled the scene,” a police spokesperson said.
