Williamsbridge: Four Injured, One Seriously, in 6-Story Residential Blaze

Four people were injured, one seriously, in a fire in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx, according to the FDNY.   Fire department officials said they were alerted to reports of a fire/smoke at 3044 Wallace Avenue at 21.46 p.m. on Friday, June 16. An FDNY spokesperson said the fire broke out in the basement of the 6-story, occupied multiple dwelling and was brought under control at 10.26 p.m.  The spokesperson said one civilian is in serious condition, two civilians incurred minor injuries, and one firefighter also incurred minor injuries. Fordham Heights: Man, 62, Hospitalized following Daylight Shooting

A 62-year-old man has been hospitalized following a daylight shooting in Fordham Heights on Friday, June 16.   An NYPD spokesperson said, “At 16.50 hours, at 2386 Ryer Avenue, a male…he was shot once in the knee.” The address is the location of Ryer Housing Development, and is located between East 187th Street and East 184th, one block from the Grand Concourse, according to Google Maps.
