Montefiore Medical Center hosts Annual Help America Hear Day

City Employee Arrested in the Bronx on Assault Charge

On Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 at 3.39 a.m., a New York City employee was arrested in the Bronx in the 48th precinct, which covers Belmont, East Tremont, and West Farms.   Ramon Castro, 33, an NYPD Police Officer was arrested and charged with assault

Veterans, Honored and Remembered Locally, Continue to Serve the Community

  Throughout the northwest Bronx, various statues, plaques and memorials honor and remember those veterans who served the country, some of whom died in combat. Westchester Square: 96 Homeless Bronx Youth Receive Duffle Bags Filled with Toiletries

  Earlier this week, UnitedHealthcare, the Dreambuilders Foundation and NY Jets wide receiver, Breshad Perriman, donated close to 100 duffle bags filled with personal supplies to Covenant House New York (CHNY), a citywide shelter system for homeless teens and young adults.   UnitedHealthcare contributed $15,000 to provide much needed toiletries and everyday supplies to the shelter system, which includes CHNY’s Rights of Passage transitional living program site in Westchester Square in the Bronx, where 96 residents are located.   Perriman joined UnitedHealthcare of New York CEO, Michael McGuire, at UHC’s New Jersey office earlier this week to assemble the duffle

Fordham Manor: Woman Slashed in Face During Robbery

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance identifying two individuals wanted for questioning in connection to a robbery that occurred in the 52nd precinct.    On Friday, Oct. 30, 2020 at around 2 p.m. inside 301 East Kingsbridge Road (Envy Nail Salon), two unidentified men approached a 36-year-old woman as she was exiting the store. Norwood: MTA Bus Gets Stuck Making Erroneous Right Turn

An MTA bus traveling northbound along Bainbridge Avenue made an erroneous right turn onto 206th Street in Norwood Thursday, Nov. 19, at around 10.55 p.m.   As the bus driver slowly tried to make the turn, the bus grazed a parked, white Acura RDX Turbo to its right, getting stuck as it did so to the point where it could then neither move forward nor backward.   The driver said there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident, and there didn’t appear to be anybody in the surrounding, parked cars either. City Employee Arrested in the Bronx for Driving While Intoxicated

On Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at around 4.50 a.m., a New York City employee was arrested in the 47th precinct, which covers Woodlawn, Wakefield, Williamsbridge, Baychester, Edenwald, Olinville, Fishbay, and Woodlawn Cemetery.   Kerry Badala, 38, an NYPD police officer, was charged with driving while intoxicated.

  On Wednesday November 18, 2020, at approximately 11 a.m., an off-duty New York City employee was arrested in the 45th precinct in the Bronx. The precinct covers Co-op City and City Island.   Christopher Orere, 36, from the Administration for Children’s Services was arrested and charged with assault and harassment.
