Police-Involved Shooting in the Melrose section of the Bronx

Following an early morning police-involved shooting in the Bronx’s 40th precinct on Sunday, NYPD Chief of Department, Terence Monahan provided a written and video statement on the incident, prefacing his remarks by saying that the information provided was preliminary and subject to change, as the investigation is still ongoing.   Monahan said that at approximately 12.35 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21, a sergeant and two police officers, who were all in uniform were patrolling in the area of East 153rd Street and Third Avenue in the Bronx.   The three officers observed two men spray paint graffiti on 677 Elton

Kingsbridge: 73-Year-Old Woman Hit by Vehicle, Dies

  On Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021 at around 8.58 p.m, police responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who had been hit by a moving vehicle at the intersection of Broadway and West 231st Street, in the 50th precinct.   Upon arrival at the location, police discovered a 73-year-old woman lying on the pavement, with trauma to the head. One Firefighter Injured, Residents Displaced in Woodlawn Blaze

A three-alarm fire in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx has injured one firefighter and destroyed two businesses according to the FDNY.
