The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance locating Julius Daviu, 18, of 1420 Noble Avenue in Soundview who was reported missing in the 43rd precinct. Lehman College has received a $1 million allocation in city capital funding through Bronx Borough President Rubén Díaz Jr.’s office to upgrade several of its most heavily used lecture halls. The funding was authorized July 1 as part of New York City’s $98.7 billion budget for fiscal year 2022. It will cover the costs of lighting, power, heating, and ventilation system upgrades and new furniture and equipment for six lecture halls, five in Carman Hall, and one in Gillet Hall, that serve more than 1,140 students. Police continue to search for a suspect wanted in connection with the beating of an elderly man aboard an MTA bus on May 31, 2021. According to a Twitter post by NYPD Crime Stoppers on Wednesday, July 14, the incident was initially reported on Monday, May 31 on an MTA bus at 5:30 p.m. at East Gun Hill Road and Barnes Avenue in the Olinville section of the Bronx.
