Police have opened a murder investigation following the shooting of a 38-year-old man in the head inside a car in Morrisania. On Sunday, July 25, at approximately 2.28 a.m. police responded to a call regarding a person who had been shot opposite 589 East 164th Street in Morrisania, in the 42nd precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 38-year-old man had been seated in the passenger’s seat of his friend’s Honda when an unknown man approached, and started shooting into the vehicle, striking the victim in the head.
