A 39-year old man has been hospitalized following an auto-theft and police-involved shooting in the Mt Hope section of The Bronx, police said. NYPD Chief of Department, Chief Jeffrey Maddrey, Chief John Chell, chief of patrol, and other senior officials from Patrol Borough Manhattan North, Patrol Borough Bronx and the 44th Precinct, gave a press conference in the early hours of Sunday morning, Dec. 4, to share details of the incident. Chell said, “At approximately, 11.45 p.m. this evening, we have members of the 30 precinct responding to a vehicle that was being broken into]. Call came in through 911.

Following an early morning, Nov. 24th, residential fire in which two people died at 1730 Harrison Avenue in Morris Heights, the FDNY is encouraging the public to check out their fire safety tips, while a GoFundMe page has been set-up to support the victims of the tragedy.
