Bronx Notes: UNHP Fundraiser at Bronx Ale House

The University Neighborhood Housing Program, a local nonprofit think tank and multi-service provider, is holding a fundraiser tonight at the Bronx Ale House. The event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include a commemorative pint glass, a free drink, and food. They will also be raffling off some great prizes including Yankee tickets and a Bronx Ale House beer basket.

The Bronx Ale House is located at 216 West 238th Street in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx between Bailey Avenue and Broadway. The Ale House is easily accessible by the #1 Train to 238th Street. Check out their website for further directions: www.bronxalehouse.com

Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts. The Norwood News runs the Bronx Youth Journalism Heard, a journalism training program for Bronx high school students.
