Belmont/Fordham Manor: Food Vendor Beaten and Robbed at Gunpoint on East Fordham Road

A FOOD VENDOR was beaten and robbed on East Fordham Road on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, police said.

Police are looking for five individuals who beat and robbed a food vendor on East Fordham Road on the border of Belmont and Fordham Manor on Feb. 26.

 

Officers from the 48th Precinct were called to East Fordham Road and Third Avenue on Feb. 26 at around 11.05 p.m. when the 34-year-old victim reported he was working at the food cart and five individuals approached him and demanded money.

 

A police spokesperson told Norwood News, “One of the individuals displayed a black firearm and hit him across the face causing swelling and injury. The other individuals began to punch and kick him about the body causing pain.”

 

Police say the suspects stole an undetermined amount of cash as well as the victim’s iPhone, before fleeing on foot, southbound along Third Avenue. They said no arrests have yet bee made in the case and no description of the suspects was available. They’re continuing to investigate.
