UPDATE Bedford Park: Search for Woman following Assault on Mother with Toddler

 

 

The New York City Police Department seeking the public’s help finding the unidentified individual seen in the attached photo and video who is sought in connection with an assault that occurred in Bedford Park, in the 52nd precinct.

It was reported to police that on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at approximately 8.47 a.m., a 2-year-old girl was exiting 230 East 198th Street with her mother when an unidentified woman approached her from behind, pushed her to the ground and caused her head to strike the pavement. The assailant fled on foot, northbound on Valentine Avenue. The victim was transported by EMS to Montefiore Medical Center in stable condition.

The assailant is described as a woman who was estimated to be between 35 and 45 years of age, was 5 feet, 4 inches tall, dark-skinned, weighed about 130 pounds and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and red sneakers.

 

On Thursday, Nov. 4, the 52nd precinct confirmed that patrol officers and the 52 detective squad arrested the suspect.
