Bedford Park: Man Sought in Connection with Carjacking

 

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person seen in the attached surveillance video and photograph who is sought for questioning in connection with a gun point robbery/carjacking that occurred in the 52nd precinct.

 

It was reported to police that on Friday, July 16, at approximately 5.30 p.m., opposite 300 East 201st Street in the Bedford Park section of the Bronx, a 23-year-old male victim was parked and sitting inside his vehicle, a 2014 black Lexus, when an unidentified man approached the driver side window, pointing a black firearm as he did so.

 

The suspect demanded the victim get out of his vehicle and walk away, which he did. The suspect got into the car and drove off to parts unknown. The car is valued at approximately $16,000, and contained electronics, a cell phone and clothing. There were no injuries reported following the incident.

 

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s with a thin build, medium-skinned, and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, a black ski mask covering half of his face, a white and black hat and was seen carrying a black bag around his neck.

 

Surveillance video and a photo are attached and were obtained from the incident location, before the incident occurred.
