Bedford Park: Man Sought for Attempted Robbery, Shoots at Store Employee amid Struggle

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photo who they say is wanted in connection to an attempted robbery and assault that occurred inside a Bedford Park store on Saturday.

 

Police said that on Saturday, March 9, at around 2 p.m., an apparent customer entered a store located at 101 East 198th Street (a deli & grocery) at Creston Avenue and while an employee was handing the customer some store merchandise, the customer attempted to grab it from him while simultaneously displaying a gun and threatening the 44-year-old male employee.

They said the victim attempted to struggle with the suspect, causing the suspect to discharge one round in the victim’s direction, before the suspect fled the scene. They said the victim was not injured and the merchandise was not taken.

 

Police said the suspect has a dark complexion and was wearing a dark colored, hooded sweatshirt.
