Building applications have been filed with NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) for a new, 6-story, mixed-use building located at 2460 White Plains Road in the Allerton section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.

Located between Mace Avenue and Waring Avenue, the lot is one block south of the Allerton Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Zev Mayer of Skyrock NYC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 61-foot-tall development will yield 25,917 square feet, with 23,218 square feet designated for residential space and 2,698 square feet for community facility space. The building will yield 32 residential units, most likely condos, based on the average unit scope of 725 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have 16 open parking spaces.

Nikolai Katz Architect is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant, and an estimated completion date has not yet been announced.

Welcome to the Norwood News, a bi-weekly community newspaper that primarily serves the northwest Bronx communities of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham and University Heights. Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts.
