A woman was hospitalized on Friday, July 10, in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx, following an incident at Bedford Park subway station, police said.
Police said that at 7.55 p.m. on Friday, there was a report made of a woman who had entered onto the road bed (train track). It was unclear where or when she entered the track. A spokesperson said she was seen “walking towards Bedford” [Park Boulevard station] and “then, she was off the road bed.”

Police said the woman was taken to BronxCare Hospital in the South Bronx and there were no arrests in connection with the incident.
Separately, at 8.09 p.m., police said a male carrying a blue bag pack was seemingly questioned, potentially for safety reasons he said, and added that the incident was later categorized as being “unfounded” finally. We asked if any arrests had been made and he said there were not.

A witness at the scene, Devin Whitehead, told Norwood News two people were seen being handcuffed and escorted by police along the platform. Police have previously said that even if someone is taken into custody, potentially for questioning, it doesn’t necessarily mean an arrest has taken place.
Whitehead said there were delays to the 4 train service as a result of the incidents. Norwood News reached out to the MTA to ask if the 4 train service is now operational and will share any further updates we receive.
The FDNY said they had no record of the incident.
On the same day, at the 145th Street Subway Station in Manhattan, a stationary D train was seen on the tracks with a large piece of rusted metal stuck onto one of the closed sliding doors, as seen in this video by Nate Pennington.
Pennington said, “I was on that train. I thought we hit somebody. It scared the sh*t out of me but now, it’s jammed in there. We can drag it like two stops. It was making crazy noise. I don’t know what happened. It’s jammed in there though. They ain’t going nowhere. Absolutely crazy.”

Norwood News asked the MTA for more information about the incident and were advised that a door from an equipment room located in a tunnel north of 168th Street station in Manhattan, on the A train, which runs in the same general direction as the D train in Manhattan, had dislodged and had become attached to the exterior of a passing D train on July 9.
The MTA spokesperson said there were no injuries reported and a limited impact to service. The spokesperson said a review is underway to determine how the door separated from the wall.

The previous day, on Thursday, July 9, according to some posts on social media, a woman reportedly got stuck in an elevator at Mosholu Parkway subway station, located at Jerome Avenue and Mosholu Parkway on the Bedford Park-Norwood border, and serving the 4 train.
An on site MTA worker at the station later told Norwood News she was rescued by the FDNY. The worker said the incident lasted about 5 minutes.
Weekend changes to MTA subway services are indicated in the attached subway map below.
